Burnt Out Industries was founded by Mike Velez, a mechanical engineer who spent a decade in Silicon Valley designing high-stakes consumer tech. After years of "burning the wick at both ends" to build the world’s most ubiquitous devices, Mike realized that looking at a screen all day is a great way to forget there's a whole universe outside.
We believe there are more important things to do than answer emails, like finding the perfect line down a mountain or catching a sunrise from the water. Burnt Out Industries (or BOi for short) is for the people who respect world-class engineering but prioritize the perspective you only get when you're far away from a desk.
